Moving home is one of the most stressful things you will ever imagine doing in your life. And we know (!) Having moved every 2 years or so over a 12 year period we became experts in packing up and waiting to be moved to our next home! And does it get any easier you ask - well the answer is no, because the more you move the more you hoard!
So when we decided to make the move to Spain it was actually one of the easiest moves we made! Why, you might ask? Simple, we were scrupulous and ditched everything we had been hoarding for years! To be honest we were lucky as the previous owners had left lots of furniture in the house so we didn't need to bring big items. This meant most of the van was filled with the childrens things and our personal possessions such as photos and those things you really cannot bring yourself to throw.
The most daunting thing when moving to a foreign country is the language and here in rural Inland Spain, it is no different - actually yes it is! It's harder as there is absolutely no point in trying to move to a rural location unless you are willing to give the language a go as there is little to no English spoken in the local community (with the exception of ex-pats living here - of which, there are quite a few).
We have now just spent our forth Christmas in Spain and gosh we have had some ups and downs, good days and bads days, but through it all we have managed to experience just about every good and bad thing that is likely to happen to you - these experiences we can pass onto you!
Living and working in the local community we have made many local contacts (both Spanish and English) and are able to advise you accordingly. You can of couse, and we recommend you should, speak with other people in the local community. Don't just take our word for it!
We have a small selection of houses on offer, some from the Ex-pat community wishing to move on and some from local Spanish friends who want to sell their homes direct to prospective buyers. We merely post the houses for sale on our website and can arrange for you to meet with these people - what happens after this is up to you.
